TAMPA, Fla. – The Spartans end the Saints' historic run to advance to the National title game for the second time in program history.
How It Happened

Both teams had plenty of chances in the first minutes, and Tampa would capitalize first after Zack Friend scored an unassisted goal at the 9:28 mark.

Despite Maryville generating scoring opportunities, Connor Theriault and the Tampa defense did not allow a goal in the first quarter.

A.J. Pascarella and Jackson Bashaw would add to the Spartans' total to end the first quarter up three.

Grant Green and Rafe Bradshaw tallied goals to give UTampa a 5-0 lead, but Maryville would respond at the 9:36 mark in the second quarter to cut into Tampa's lead.

The Saints added two more goals, but the Spartans' offense continued to click, and they went into the half up, 8-3.

The two teams each netted three goals apiece in the third quarter, which kept the hosts' lead at five.
- Maryville would outscore Tampa in the fourth, 2-1, but Tampa would prevail 12-8.
