Spartans Climb One Spot in Latest USILA Coaches Poll
After ending the week 2-0, the University of Tampa Spartans move up one spot in the latest USILA Coaches Poll.
TAMPA, Fla. – In the USILA Division II Coaches poll announced on Monday, April 16th, the University of Tampa men's lacrosse program was tabbed the No. 7 best team in the nation.
Last week, Tampa defeated two Sunshine State Conference, opponents ending the week 2-0. First, in their mid-week showdown against the Rollins College Tars, the Spartans won by a final score of 17-5. Then on Saturday, the Spartans defeated the Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish 27-5. This week UT welcomes the now No. 5 Saint Leo Lions for a mid-week showdown starting at 8:00 p.m. Then on Saturday, April 21st, the Spartans will travel to Boca Raton, Florida for their final regular season contest against the Lynn Fighting Knights at 7:00 p.m.
The Sunshine State Conference is well represented in the coaches poll. Saint Leo now holds the No. 5 ranking, followed by UT at No. 7 and Florida Tech snagging No. 13.
