Tampa Men's Lacrosse Climbs Ranks
After defeating the No. 7 NYIT Bears, Tampa has jumped in this weeks USILA ranks from No. 5 to No. 3.
TAMPA, Fla. – In the USILA Division II Coaches poll announced on Monday, February 26th, the University of Tampa men's lacrosse program was tabbed the No. 3 best team in the nation.
After defeating the No. 7 ranked NYIT Bears on Saturday by a final score of 10-9, Tampa moved up to No. 3 in the rankings. The Spartans have started their 2018 campaign with a perfect 4-0 record, having also defeated the Tusculum College Pioneers, the Queens University of Charlotte Royals, and the reigning national champions, the Limestone College Saints.
Saint Leo is the only other ranked team in the Sunshine State Conference snagging the No. 11 spot, after also defeating the NYIT Bears. After losing two games over the weekend, NYIT has fallen to the No. 15 spot.
The Spartans continue their journey on Saturday, March 3rd as they host the North Greenville University Crusaders. The game is slated to begin at 1:00 p.m. at the Naimoli Family Intramural and Athletic Complex in Tampa, Fla.
