Men’s Lacrosse Set to Host Notre Dame de Namur
Tampa, Fla - The men's lacrosse team will put their No. 7 ranking on the line when they host Notre Dame de Namur Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. at the Naimoli Family Athletic and Intramural Complex. It will be the first ever meeting between these two schools.
Tampa comes into this game 3-0, after defeating Catawba 11-5 last weekend. The Spartans are led by Jake Rooney, Conor Whipple, and Andrew Failla. Rooney leads the team with 14 points (10 goals, 4 assists), while Whipple has netted at least three goals in every game so far this season. Failla is coming off his second double-digit saves game of the season and has a 5.84 goals against average. Nick Ferreiro has a .723 faceoff win percentage and leads the Spartans picking up 24 ground balls.
Notre Dame comes into tomorrow's game with a 3-1 record. The Argonauts have posted wins over Santa Clara, UC Santa Cruz, and Chico State. They fell to Adams State 13-9 in their game last weekend. Notre Dame is led by Jordan Wagner, Carter Olsen, and Evan King. Wagner tallied a team-high four points against Adams State, while Olsen netted a pair of goals. King tallied three caused turnovers and two ground balls in the game.
