Spartan Golfers Complete First Spring Event

MELBOURNE, Fla. - The University of Tampa golf team completed the Titan Winter Invitational, which was hosted by Brevard Community College and featured several of the state's top teams. It also marked the first meet of the Spring season for UT, who finished 11th overall of 13 teams.

Chad Bouchard and Jon-Michael Socaris were the top finishers for the Spartans as each shot +16. Bouchard answered a 76 first round with consecutive 78 scores. Socaris scored 77 in the first two rounds and finished off the tournament with a 78 on the final day.

Other Spartans who competed were Ryan Barnett (+18), Brian Alberico (+21), Kevin Mancuso (+21), Nick Clark (+22) and Tom Rourke (+22). Mancuso and Rourke each had rounds of 76, joining Bouchard with honors for the highest round for UT.

The Spartans will next compete in the Florida Tech Invitational on March 5-6. The event will also take place in Melbourne.
