TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa men's basketball team will kick off its 2026-27 season with a trip to Honolulu for the prestigious Hoops In Hawaii Tip-Off Classic, head coach Linc Darner announced Monday.

"We are extremely excited to start our season against a challenging field of teams," says head coach Linc Darner. "This will also serve as a tremendous opportunity for our student-athletes to represent the University on a national level, and come together as a team at the beginning of the season."
Tampa will be joined by a host of teams coming off NCAA Tournament runs, including Adelphi, Hawaii Pacific, Lake Erie, and Saint Edward's. Also competing will be Chaminade, Minot State, and Winona State.
