After Setting School Record, Trey Lane Named SSC Player of the Week
TAMPA, Fla. - University of Tampa men's basketball player Trey Lane was announced as the recipient of Sunshine State Conference Player of the Week honors on Monday, as announced by the league office.
The junior Lakeland, Fla., native registered a career-high 44 points on the road at Embry-Riddle on Saturday. Lane's performance is the most points for a Spartan since 2011 and established a new school record with 11 3-point field goals made.
He finished the game 11-for-16 from three, 7-for-7 from the free-throw line, and added seven rebounds, three assists, and four steals.
Earlier in the week against No. 6 Palm Beach Atlantic, Lane scored 11 points with four rebounds, two assists and one steal.
Sunshine State Conference Athletes of the Week are chosen from a pool of nominees for their performances during the week of January 12 - 18, 2025. Athletic Communication Directors of member institutions nominate athletes.
