Ryan Blount Named to Bevo Francis Award Watchlist
TAMPA, Fla. – University of Tampa men's basketball standout Ryan Blount has been named to the 2025-26 Clarence "Bevo" Francis Award Watch List, recognizing the top 100 players in small college basketball nationwide.
The Bevo Francis Award, presented annually by Small College Basketball, honors the player who has had the finest overall season at the small college level. Selection criteria include season statistics, individual achievements, awards, personal character, and team success. This prestigious honor is awarded to only one player each season, making inclusion on the watch list a significant achievement.
Blount has been the driving force behind Tampa's success this season, delivering elite production on both ends of the floor. Through 15 games, he leads the Spartans with 21.7 points per game, shooting 49.1% from the field, 43.9% from three-point range, and 85.1% from the free-throw line. His scoring prowess has been highlighted by standout performances such as 33 points against Saint Leo and 30 points versus St. Thomas Aquinas, along with a seven three-pointer outing in a win over Florida Tech.
Beyond scoring, Blount leads Tampa in rebounding with 8.0 boards per game and adds 3.7 assists per contest, making him a true all-around threat. His season-high 16 rebounds against Claflin showcased his dominance on the glass, while his defensive contributions include 18 steals and six blocks. Playing a team-high 33.7 minutes per game, Blount has been a model of consistency, scoring in double figures every outing.
Blount ranks first on the team in scoring, rebounding, and minutes played, while also sitting second in assists. He leads Tampa in three-point makes (47) and free throws (63), and his shooting percentages are among the best on the roster. Blount has been the centerpiece of an offense averaging 86.3 points per game and a squad that has posted a 9-6 record against a schedule that includes three opponents ranked in the top six nationally.
