Tampa Men’s Basketball Inks Prep Standout

TAMPA, Fla. - University of Tampa head men's basketball coach Richard Schmidt announced that Matt Tomaszewski has signed a national letter of intent to play for the Spartans next season. A 6-9 forward from Seabrook, N.H., Tomaszewski is the first player from the Class of 2011 to sign with UT.

As a senior at The Holderness School, Tomaszewski averaged 14 points, eight rebounds and three blocked shots while playing for head coach Randy Houseman. Tomaszewski also played club basketball for the Bulls, where he led the squad to two Class C NEPSAC championships.

"I am excited to have Matt on board." Says Schmidt. "He is a big kid who passes the ball very well. He also runs the floor well and we expect him to develop in college while concentrating on one sport."
