NOTES
Tampa improved to 11-0 in NCAA Tournament play this postseason and became the first team in the nation to reach the 50-win mark in 2026.
The victory marked the Spartans' third consecutive 50-win season and the sixth 50-win campaign under head coach Joe Urso. Tampa previously reached the milestone in 2006 (54-6), 2007 (53-10), 2019 (52-10), 2024 (52-8), and 2025 (55-10).
The win was Tampa's third extra-inning victory of the postseason and moved the Spartans one win away from an NCAA Division II-record 11th national championship.
Tampa owns NCAA Division II baseball's all-time record with 10 national championships and is attempting to become the first program in division history to win three consecutive national titles.
West Chester entered the night unbeaten in the NCAA Championship Series and had won 14 of its previous 15 games before Thursday's loss.
