Trio of Spartans Named D2CCA All-Americans
MARSHALL, Minn. – University of Tampa baseball student-athletes B.J. Bailey, Robert Satin, and Jhoander Irigoyen earned 2026 Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) All-America honors, as announced Thursday by the organization.
Bailey was named a first-team starting pitcher, while Satin and Irigoyen each garnered second-team recognition following standout seasons for the Spartans during Tampa's run to the NCAA Super Regional round.
Bailey, a graduate left-hander from Woodruff, South Carolina, put together one of the top pitching seasons in NCAA Division II baseball. Entering the NCAA Super Regional, Bailey owns a 13-0 record with a 2.08 ERA across 103.2 innings while striking out 100 batters and limiting opponents to a .209 batting average.
The first-team All-American selection adds to an already decorated season for Bailey, who also earned ABCA/Rawlings South All-Region and D2CCA All-South Region honors. Bailey becomes the latest Spartan to collect national recognition on the mound following Skylar Gonzalez earning D2CCA Ron Lenz Pitcher of the Year honors in 2024.
Satin, a junior left-hander from Tampa, Florida, was selected to the D2CCA All-America Second Team after compiling a 12-2 record with a 2.53 ERA in 103.1 innings pitched. Satin struck out 109 batters while holding opposing hitters to a .240 batting average during his breakout campaign for the Spartans.
Irigoyen, a senior catcher from Winter Garden, Florida, also collected second-team All-America recognition after batting .377 with 16 doubles, 11 home runs, and 62 RBI while helping lead the Spartans offensively throughout the season. Defensively, Irigoyen posted a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage behind the plate with 325 putouts and 16 assists.
The D2CCA All-America and All-Region baseball teams are selected by College Sports Communicators from schools sponsoring NCAA Division II baseball and have been awarded since 2007.
The Division II Conference Commissioners Association encourages and promotes Division II athletics and high standards of sportsmanship as important elements of higher education. The CCA is a key communications link among the conferences as they discuss views, policies and regulations that impact Division II intercollegiate athletics and works closely with the NCAA as a communications channel to NCAA Division II member colleges and universities.
