TAMPA, Fla. — The No. 3 University of Tampa baseball team completed a Sunshine State Conference doubleheader sweep of Palm Beach Atlantic on Saturday at Tampa Baseball Field, winning 12–0 in the opener and 11–3 in the nightcap.
The Spartans improved to 22–4 overall and 9–0 in SSC play, continuing their dominance over the Sailfish while extending their conference winning streak. Tampa combined efficient pitching with timely offense in both games, scoring late in each contest to pull away and secure the sweep.
Game 1: Tampa 12, Palm Beach Atlantic 0
Tampa set the tone early in the opener, scoring two runs in the second, two more in the third, and adding insurance throughout the middle innings to cruise to a 12–0 shutout win.
The Spartans opened the scoring in the second on RBI hits from Jake Books and Luke Fikar. In the third, Jordan Evans and Brayden Woodburn launched back‑to‑back home runs to stretch the lead, igniting a sustained offensive surge. Tampa continued to add on with RBI singles in the fourth and sixth, then plated three runs in the eighth to put the game out of reach.
On the mound, B.J. Bailey was dominant, working six shutout innings while allowing just two hits. The bullpen followed suit, as Oscar Hernandez and Cade Drohan combined to close out the shutout victory.

Palm Beach Atlantic jumped out to a 3–0 lead in the second inning, but Tampa responded immediately. Nik Pereira delivered an RBI double in the second, and Brayden Woodburn followed with an RBI single in the third. The Spartans tied the game in the fifth when Evans homered to center field, then took the lead for good in the sixth on an RBI double from Jhoander Irigoyen.
Tampa broke the game open in the seventh with three runs and added four more in the eighth, highlighted by Irigoyen's two‑run double and aggressive baserunning that pressured the Sailfish defense.
John Luke Glanton earned the win with six strong innings, while the bullpen shut down PBA over the final three frames.
