Bio

Now in his fourth season coaching at his alma mater, The University of Tampa, Christopher Rosenbaum works primarily with hitters and catchers while also handling advance scouting responsibilities.

He was part of a staff that capped off a historic 2025 baseball season by winning its 10th NCAA Division II national championship, marking the most championships in Division II history. The Spartans posted a 55-10 overall record, setting a record for most wins in a season in program history. Tampa also won the Sunshine State Conference with a 27-3 mark in conference play. The postseason run included battling from the losers bracket and played back-to-back doubleheaders to ultimately defeat Central Missouri 11-5 in the championship game.

He was also part of Tampa’s 2024 NCAA National Championship team, his first as a coach.

Before returning to Tampa, he spent over a decade in professional baseball, including seven years in advance scouting with the Washington Nationals, two years in pro scouting with the Seattle Mariners, and two years in advance scouting with the Houston Astros, where he was part of the 2022 World Series Championship team.

A former catcher in the Los Angeles Angels organization, Rosenbaum played three professional seasons before transitioning into scouting. Originally from Castleton, New York, he began his collegiate career at the University of Rochester before transferring to The University of Tampa. As a catcher for the Spartans, he played a key role in back-to-back National Championships in 2006 and 2007 and was recognized as a First-Team Academic All-American. He earned both his Bachelor’s degree in Finance and an MBA from UT.
