Baseball Stays on Top of the NCAA South Region Poll
UT moves up to No. 2 NCBWA National Poll
TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa baseball team remains on top of the NCAA South Region. The Spartans remain in the top spot after posting a perfect week as they swept the Palm Beach Atlantic University Sailfish. UT has also moved up to No. 2 in the NCBWA National Poll.
Following the Spartans in the South Region rankings are the University of West Florida Argonauts. UT took two of three games against UWF back in early February. Following the Argonauts are the Sharks of Nova Southeastern University. NSU fell one spot to third after dropping a game to the Florida Southern Mocs this past week.
Fellow Sunshine State Conference schools Lynn and Florida Southern are in the rankings at sixth and eighth respectively.
A total of seven team will make up the regional with automatic bids coming from the Sunshine State Conference, the Gulf South Conference, Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. The remaining four bids are given to at-large teams.
The NCAA South Regional Tournament will be held May 19-23 at a campus site, with the winner of the regional advancing to the NCAA Division II Championship Series.

The Spartans will be back in action this weekend as they travel to St. Petersburg as they take on the Eckerd College Tritons in a Sunshine State Conference series.
