Stephen Dezzi Caps Weeks With SSC Player of the Week Honor
WINTER PARK, Fla. - Tampa's Stephen Dezzi and Florida Southern's Clay Chapman have been selected Sunshine State Conference Baseball Players of the Week presented by VALIC.
Dezzi, a junior outfielder/designated hitter from Sarasota, Fla., led the No. 1 Spartans to a 4-0 week, including a three-game series sweep of conference foe Rollins on the road. Dezzi finished the week hitting .429 (6-of-14) at the plate with a 1.143 slugging percentage.
The junior broke out against the Tars hitting 6-of-12 (.500) and earning four bases on balls. Dezzi slugged 1.333 against Rollins with two home runs, two doubles and a triple. Dezzi drove in eight RBIs and scored five times.
