Spartans Set for Baker Beach Bash

SAINT PETERSBURG, Fla. - The University of Tampa beach volleyball program returns to the sand to face host Eckerd and Missouri State at the Baker Beach Bash. The duels are set to be held at Baker Beach Volleyball Complex. 

About Tampa: Tampa enters with a 13-9 overall record. The Spartans won three of four duels its last time out in Charleston, South Carolina, at the College of Charleston Invite. Tampa collected victories over Coastal Carolina, Erskine, and the host, College of Charleston. 

About Eckerd: Eckerd is 14-10 and is coming off a 3-2 victory over Missouri State. The first and only time Tampa and Eckerd faced each other was on March 7 in Tampa. The Spartans swept the Tritons, 5-0.

About Missouri State: Missouri State heads to Florida after a 3-1 weekend at the Arizona Invitational, where the Bears opened with a 5-0 sweep of Tarleton before adding 3-2 victories over San Francisco and UTEP. Missouri State picked up contributions throughout the lineup in Tucson, with all five pairings earning at least one win during the weekend.
