Beach Volleyball to Host Tampa Beach Brawl

TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Tampa beach volleyball program is set to host its second tournament of the season.

About Tampa: After starting the season 4-0, Tampa has dropped the last three matches and are 4-3. All three losses came last weekend at the Seminole Beach Bash to ranked TCU, USF, and FGCU. The Spartans will host the Tampa Beach Brawl and have a home tournament for the second time this season.

About USF: USF earned a 3-0 sweep over the Tampa last weekend. The Bulls are 4-4 on the season and open the weekend on Friday, March 6 against the host, Tampa, before closing out the opening day against Barry. On day two, the Bulls will face Palm Beach Atlantic and Eckerd College. 

About Palm Beach Atlantic: The Sailfish enter the tournament with a 4-5 record. PBA has lost five of its last six after beginning the season 4-0. Palm Beach Atlantic and Tampa have yet to face each other this season but wil do so twice this weekend.

About Eckerd: Eckerd is 2-4 with one of its wins coming against Mercer, a common opponent between the Tritons and Spartans. Eckerd and Tampa have not played each other this season and will on Sunday.

Tampa vs. USF, Friday, March 6 at 9:00 a.m.

Tampa vs. PBA, Friday, March 6 at 5:00 p.m.

Tampa vs. PBA, Saturday, March 7 at 11:00 a.m.

Tampa vs. Eckerd, Saturday, March 7 at 3:00 p.m.
