Spartans Remain Undefeated at the AVCA Small College Beach Championships
After going a perfect 3-0 on the first day of competition, the Spartans stay alive at the AVCA Small College Beach Championships.
TAVARES, Fla. – The University of Tampa beach volleyball team went a perfect 3-0 on the first day of the AVCA Small College Beach Championships. Due to the team's stellar performance, they have punched a ticket to the semifinals, tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. against Eckerd College.
In the team's first dual of the day, the Spartans swept SSC rival Florida Southern. This marked the third meeting with the Moccasins this season, UT now leading the all-time series 2-1.
The Spartans then faced the Lincoln Memorial University Railsplitters for their second match of the day at 1:00 p.m. UT won this dual 4-1. This was the second meeting for the Spartans and the Railsplitters, and last time the two schools met, Tampa swept them.
Finally, to remain undefeated on the day, UT took down the Saint Leo Lions 4-1 in the final dual of the day. Tampa now leads the all-time series with Saint Leo 3-0.

Tampa will face the Eckerd College Tritons in the semifinals of the AVCA Small College Championship. The dual will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, April 8th. If the Spartans win against Eckerd, they will then go on to play the winner of the Texas A&M Kingsville Javelinas vs. the Spring Hill Badgers in the Championship match at 1:00 p.m.
