LEXINGTON, Ky. - The American Volleyball Coaches Association has released its All-America teams for the 2017 season on Tuesday.
Exactly 13 of the athletes honored on the AVCA All-America teams in 2017 have received the award multiple times. Headlining this year's selections are a trio of three-time All-Americans: California Baptist's Lauren Hackett, Tarleton State's Hailey Roberts, and Lewis' Aly Schneider.
The 2017 All-America selections were made by the AVCA Division II All-America Committee: Flip Piontek, Central Missouri, chairperson; Laurie Lokash, Slippery Rock; Kristy Bayer, Arkansas Tech; John Titus, Caldwell; Wick Colchagoff, Findlay; Sam Cibrone, Saint Leo; Chuck Waddington, Angelo State; Heather Vahjen, Erskine; Chris Green, Alaska Anchorage.
This year, sophomore Taylor Fosler was named an honorable mention for the first time in her career due to her stellar 2017 campaign. Fosler ended fourth on team in kills this season with 259 and had an average kill percentage of .375. The middle-hitter had 10 or more kills on 12 different occasions and hit .700 or above on five separate occasions. The Ocala, Fla. native ended the season with 10 assists, five aces, 40 digs, and 86 total blocks for the Spartans.
