TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa women's soccer team will host the Saint Leo Lions on Wednesday night. The Spartans are coming off a close 1-0 road win at Florida Tech while Saint Leo is coming off a 2-0 road loss to Barry University.
The Matchup: Tampa (7-5-1, 4-4 SSC) vs. Saint Leo (4-8, 3-6 SSC)

Last Time Out: UT traveled to Melbourne, Fla. for a weekend match at Florida Tech. The Spartans beat the Panthers 1-0 with a late first half goal from Miranda Gonzalez assisted by Ashley Loeza. Caroline Frykgard totaled seven saves in the match, making this her third shutout of the season.
About the Spartans: On the offensive side of the field, Erika Peitersen, Nastasia Asgedom, and Ali Robinson have combined for eight of the 15 goals scored by the team. Nine different players have scored at least one goal this season for the Spartans. In net, Caroline Frykgard has played a majority of the minutes so far this season. The senior keeper comes in with a 0.93 GAA, has recorded 46 saves, a .793 save percentage and has three shutouts.
About the Leos: Victoria Covas leads the Lions offense with four goals on the season and twelve shots on goal. Angelina Troche has two goals, one being a game winner for Saint Leo. Five other players each have one goal on the season. Goalkeepers Megan Charlton and Julia Ortiz have split time in goal this season each playing and starting in six games. Charlton has 43 saves and one shoutout this season and Ortiz has 19 saves and two shutouts this season.
