HOW IT HAPPENED:
1st Quarter |
Nyack was the first on the board due to a foul by Rachel Warden. Luckily, the Warriors only made one of their free throw shots. Molly Franson was quick to respond after being fouled. She sank both of her free throw shots and then drained a jump shot as well. Griffin Dempsey made the team's first three pointer allowing the Spartans to take the lead 9-7.  Franson ended the quarter 4-4 from the line. The Spartans ended the first quarter on top 14-9.

2nd Quarter | Lauren Kotey was the first Spartan to score in the second quarter with a layup in the first minute. UT's offense continued to dominate, forcing Nyack to call a timeout with Tampa leading 20-9. Faith Sanders then scored some points for UT with a layup. On defense, the Spartans held the Warriors to just seven points in the quarter. Dempsey drained another three, ending the half 2-3 beyond the arc. Heading into halftime, the Spartans led the Warriors 29-26.

3rd Quarter | Warden was the first Spartan to score in the second half with a three, making the score 32-16. At the media timeout, Tampa continued to lead 34-22. Following the timeout, Emily Eshoo drained another three, ending the quarter 1-4 from behind the three-point line. Franson continued to act as one of Tampa's leading point scores with six points in the quarter. Tampa held the lead at the end of the third quarter 41-27.

4th Quarter | Tampa was the first team to score in the fourth with a jump shot from Karma Jeremie. However, Franson continued to be the hot shooter for UT. In the fourth alone, Franson had five points for the Spartans. Tampa kept the lead for the rest of the game ending with a final score of 52-33.
