2009 NCAA Division II Cross Country South Regional

Men’s & Women’s Cross Country South Regional Championships

Meet Information

Host:   University of Tampa, Tampa, FL (10 min. north of the airport)

Date:   November 7, 2009

Time:   8:00 AM – Men’s 10,000 Meters
   9:00 AM – Women’s 6,000 Meters
   10:15 AM – Awards

Site:   Sydney Dover Trails – Dover, Fla.
   (15 miles from University of Tampa campus)

Entries:   Entry rosters will be due on October 13, 2009
Entries must be submitted online with www.Directathletics.com use name and password.

Declarations:  Final Declarations must be completed by noon on Friday, November 6th

Coaches Meeting: The meeting will be held at the host hotel Courtyard Marriott (10152 Palm River Road Tampa, FL 33619. (813) 661-9559 on Nov. 6 at 8 p.m.

Trainers / Medical: The University of Tampa athletic training room will be available Fri., Nov. 6 from 2–5 p.m. UT trainers will be available at the course on race day.  There will be a physician at the meet as well as an emergency crew. Restrooms: There will be 10 portable restrooms located at the course.

Course Description: Spectator friendly, fast surface, one major hill in woods approximately 150 to 200 meters long, three loops for the men’s 10K, two loops for the women’s 6K. Start and finish close. Maps are available at the bottom of page.

Directions to Course: Coming from hotels: Head east on Highway 60, seven miles; once you pass Dover Road Light, at the bottom of the hill ½ the park entrance will be on the left.

Awards: Will be presented at the finish line area tent.  The top 15 individuals in each race by the (USTFCCCA).  Top two teams in each race. 

National Qualifying: Men top three and women top two teams will advance to nationals. The top two individuals from non-qualifying team and all individuals in the top five overall will also advance.

**** All 4 hotels are within a half mile of each other and are the closest to the course.  We also worked a good deal
for all coaches and teams to eat at Boca di Beppo.  This is an Italian style restaurant that will more than
accommodate your team’s needs.  I will be sending you a form that will allow you to obtain Reservation for that Friday night meal.  There are many other restaurants all along Brandon Blvd. and Lumdsen Blvd.
