Gil has been with the University of Tampa Athletics Department since 1989. He built the Athletic Marketing program from scratch in 2005. Gil’s first promotions staff consisted of just six members and, over the years, the staff has expanded to fifty members. The Athletic Marketing program has been recognized as a NACMA Bronze Award winner, received two NCAA awards, and most recently was presented the University of Tampa Leadership Award for most spirited club on campus.

Tara Ricci

Bio, Accomplishments, Theme Nights, and Fun Facts: Tara supervises the event promotions crews, makes job assignments, writes game scripts and public announcer scripts and ensures the props and prizes are assembled.

Tara spent much of her undergraduate career working different positions with the Tampa Bay Lightning including ticket office and client services.

While serving as a part-time post-graduate intern in UT Athletic Marketing, Tara continues as a box office supervisor with the Lightning.
She also worked the NCAA Frozen Four Hockey Championships in Tampa and volunteered for a Tampa Bay Rays Foundation fundraising event.

Lucas Alvarez

Lucas is the current President of the UT College Republicans.
Theme Night: Valentine’s Day, Grey’s Anatomy, and Pumpkin Patch.
Fun Fact: Lucas preformed in Color Guard in high school and is able to play violin, viola, and sing.  Lucas is so good at displaying our spirit flag that everyone else is too intimidated to do it. People in the crowd have even said, “Man, that guy is good at waving the flag.”

Salma received an athletic marketing employee of the week award her first semester.
Theme Nights: Pumpkin Patch and represented AM at the campus candy for kids Halloween night.
Fun Facts: Salma plays tennis, enjoys fashion, and produces videos. In addition to producing athletic marketing’s YouTube videos, she is a fine banner painter.

Justin is going to school for criminology in order to became a police officer and eventually a federal agent which makes him a perfect match for athletic marketing membership.
Fun Facts: Justin played baseball, soccer, and basketball.  He also loves fishing. His favorite UT sport to promote is women’s soccer.

Sabreen was the Valedictorian of her high school class.

Courtney represents Athletic Marketing as a member of Student Government executive board. Courtney last year was Vice President for Athlete Relations and was responsible for scheduling student athletes for promotional events.
Theme Nights: Midnight Madness chair. Mardi Gras Night, and Spring & Fall Sports Festivals, SG Blackout. She has secured funding from SG for several projects.
Fun Fact: Courtney Spent the summer of 2015 swimming, tagging, and studying sharks and rays in the Gulf of Mexico.  Courtney assisted with the Baseball Team’s National Championship Ring presentation banquet.
