UT Enjoys Success at FIRA
April 12, 2008TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Tampa crew team participated in five races at the 2008 Florida Intercollegiate Rowing Association (FIRA) Championships, bringing home a first-place finish in the lightweight four.
The lightweight four victory came in a time of 7:29.3 as the Spartans outlasted Stetson to win the race. Tampa also placed fourth in the lightweight varsity four (7:30.6) and fifth in the freshman novice four (7:42.1).
On Friday, UT's freshman novice four was third with a time of 8:02.8. The Spartans also came in fourth in the varsity four with a time of 8:07.9.
Tampa will be back in action on Saturday as it competes in the SIRA Championships in Oakridge, Tenn.
