Karl Burdis Named SSC Men's Swimmer of the Week

WINTER PARK, Fla. – Tampa senior Karl Burdis has been recognized as the Sunshine State Conference Men's Swimmer of the Week Presented by VALIC.

Burdis finished in first-place in all three events that he competed in against Indian River State. The Dublin, Ireland native recorded a NCAA provisional time in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 50.47 seconds to finish first. In the 200-yard backstroke, Burdis missed a second NCAA provisional time by less than a second with his first-place finish in a time of 1:52.67. He was then a part of the 200-yard medley relay team that finished first in a time of 1:34.16.
