Tampa Swimming Set to Host Pair of Meets

TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa men’s and women’s swimming teams are set to open their home season with a pair of meets at the UT Aquatics Center.

The Spartans will host Sunshine State Conference opponent Lynn University on Friday at 3:30 p.m. The meet will includes men’s races, but scoring will consist of the women’s portion as Lynn only has a women’s team. Tampa will then host powerhouse Indian River State College on Saturday at 1 p.m.

Tampa is coming off a pair of close losses in both men’s and women’s action in its season opener at Florida Southern College on Oct. 18. In that meet, Karl Burdis and Khalid Aldaboos each notched national top-times in the 100 Back and 50 Free respectively. Each of UT’s relay teams also garnered national top-10 showings in every race.

UT will offer a free video broadcast (video only) for both meets, which may be accessed through TampaSpartans.tv.
