Tampa Set to Entertain SSC Opponent Nova SoutheasternOctober 16, 2012
TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa men’s soccer team hosts Sunshine State Conference opponent Nova Southeastern University at 5:30 p.m., on Wednesday at Pepin Stadium.
The Spartans are coming off a tough overtime loss to Rollins College, who defeated UT 2-1. Tampa enters the match with a 7-4-1 overall record and a 4-2 record in the SSC.
Sophomore Tyler Blackwood comes into the game leading the Spartans with seven goals and 15 points overall. Senior defenseman Brian Fekete has supported the team well this season with two assists to show for his efforts.
The Sharks come into the game with an overall record of 6-5-1 and rank seventh in the SSC with a 2-3-1 record. The biggest victory of the year for the Sharks came with a 1-0 win over Lynn University, who was ranked No. 1 in the nation at the time.
Freshman forward Riccardo Bini has been the star of the Sharks this season with a team-leading seven goals, while fellow classmate Stefano Fanfoni has also made a splash with a goal and three assists.
Tickets are available at the gate for $5. Children 12-and-under will be admitted free. UT faculty, staff and students are admitted free when displaying a valid Spartan ID card.
